The Covid-19 pandemic has taken over the world. Leaving people in fear, pain and distress. We are being forced to stay inside and are denied of mobility. Life as we know it has been shut down.
But what if this pandemic is our Lemon? And that what we chose to make from this time of isolation is our lemonade? All this Lemon needs is some salt or sugar and it is immediately changed into lemonade. How can we turn this tragedy that has befallen us to our benefit you ask? The answer is simple. Just remember how many times you wished you didn’t have to go to school, work, etc. remember all those long nights and all-nighters you pulled working and studying. Think of the things you had wanted to do but didn’t have the time for. Just imagine the endless things you can do during this time of self-isolation. Here are some examples of some of the things you can do in this time of lockdown.
Indoor work out. Try some physical activities and games to keep your body active. Do some Yoga, Pushups, Pull-ups, Sit-ups, Jumping jacks, etc. try different games, board games, Chess, Checkers, Snakes And Ladders, and even some good old hide and seek. Take yourself back to the time when you were a child, not allowed to leave the house but still had fun. You’d run around being youthful and crazy. Be that version of yourself again.
Develop your skills and talents. You finally have the time to explore the different skills you locked up in the basement of your minds because they were getting in the way of your daily grind. Write that poem, take those online singing classes, learn how to juggle. Expand the capacity of your talents. I’ts time to let loose and explore. Lastly for all social media users, start that advocacy blog, start that online movement and take up some of those online challenges. Challenges such as #Don’tRushChallenge, #PillowChallenge. Be a part of that. There is nothing stopping you anyway. Most importantly, connect with your friends and family. Connect through social media platforms, text messages, video and voice calls.
Do not let the pandemic stop you. Do not let it take your smile. There is more to do on the inside. Stay indoors and stay safe. You might be isolated, but you are not alone. #AloneTogether.
